Ann Akin

Written, directed and choreographed by myself. It's a story about mental health told through the lives of two adopted sisters, Ray and Ash. Ash suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder and her younger sister Ray is her carer. It's a story not only about mental health but also a deeply loving and at times painfully difficult sibling relationship. Within the piece you witness the emotional struggle that they both face when dealing with mental health and the journey that they go on to find a sense of normality.

'Conversations with Love' is my debut as a writer, director and choreographer'. Written in February 2011, It's a monologue piece about the different types of conversations on can have with love incorporating movement music and sign language. Performed by my theatre company, Vintage Star Productions. We have performed extracts of the piece at The Young Vic, Lyric Hammersmith and Oval House Theatre and also the full version at the Lost Theatre, Riverside Studios and a three day sold out run at the Soho Theatre.
